Meridianville

Closest to the city, Meridianville offers the corridor’s shortest commute combined with newer subdivision inventory. It’s the most common entry point into the corridor for households relocating from inside the city.

Toney & New Market

Further west and east respectively, Toney and New Market read as more rural — larger lot sizes, more custom builds on acreage, and a slower platting pattern. Buyers prioritizing land over neighborhood amenities tend to look here.

Hazel Green

At the northern end of the corridor, Hazel Green offers a sense of openness and scale. As the Huntsville metro expands, this community is a destination for those seeking a modern residence with a connection to the region’s agricultural heritage. Properties often offer half-acre lots or more.

How the Area Took Shape

The corridor running north from Huntsville along U.S. 231 and Pulaski Pike — Meridianville, Toney, New Market, and Hazel Green — built out in waves as the metro expanded. Older farmsteads and 1980s-90s ranches sit beside post-2015 subdivisions, which is why two homes a mile apart can read as entirely different markets. The Hazel Green sub-area at the northern end of the corridor is particularly defined by recent subdivision development along U.S. 231.
